Critiques

1) PREMISE:
In 2008, 16,500 people received a kidney transplant, and almost 5,000 died waiting.

none

2) FROM 1 IT FOLLOWS THAT:
The number of people who'd die from selling their organs (or from having them stolen) are vastly outnumbered by the number of people currently dying from being unable to get them quickly enough.

none

3) FROM 2 IT FOLLOWS THAT:
Even if every organ that can be taken from a person without killing them was sold for too little, or even stolen, it would still be much better than the current system.

none

4) PREMISE:
People would not sell an organ for less than what it's worth to them.

1

5) PREMISE:
If the people selling their organs are just being stupid, you could at least have a price floor to prevent them from selling them too cheaply.

none

6) FROM 4 AND 5 IT FOLLOWS THAT:
The organ trade can be legalized without hurting anyone.

1

7) PREMISE:
A third party could easily verify that the seller of an organ is missing that organ.

1

8) FROM 7 IT FOLLOWS THAT:
Legal organ trade with nominal regulation wouldn't increase the amount of stolen organs.

none

9) FROM 3,6 AND 8 IT FOLLOWS THAT:
The organ trade should be legalized.

none
